    INSORB 9100 Forceps Overview

The INSORB 9100 Forceps is a reusable, dual-tip, sequentially closing handheld device designed to facilitate the approximation of skin by a single clinician during wound closure in both general and plastic surgery. This innovative design allows the clinician to grasp 5mm of the first wound edge and subsequently grasp 5mm of the opposing edge with one hand, while the other hand operates the INSORB Stapler.

    Tissue Grasping Technique and Outputs

The technique employed for tissue grasping using the INSORB Forceps directly influences two key outputs of the INSORB Stapler:

    1. Staple-to-Staple Spacing
The spacing between staples is determined by the clinician's grasping locations along the incision. To minimize the interval between staples, it is advisable to grasp as close as possible to the previously placed staple or the apex of the incision. The recommended staple-to-staple interval is 7mm; larger intervals may compromise stability.
    2. Staple Depth
The depth of the INSORB Staple within the incision is influenced by the amount of tissue grasped before aligning the INSORB Forceps with the stapler. It is recommended to grasp 5mm of tissue to ensure optimal staple depth.
